Rosemary Scadden
Rosemary Scadden was born and educated in Newport, Mon. Initially she trained as a teacher in London and then spent twelve years living and working overseas – Uganda and then the Solomon Islands. On returning to this country she did a secretarial training and moved to Cardiff. A new career opportunity presented itself in television where she worked for nearly thirty years as an English language programme researcher, initially for HTV Wales and later for BBC Wales. She has a master’s degree from Cardiff University. Rosemary has been married twice, has two daughters, and three grandchildren. Now retired, she gives talks to local groups on a number of different subjects, mostly drawn from her life experiences. She is also an active member of the Women’s Archive of Wales and supports history initiatives in Llandaff.
