Andrea Byrne shares her seven-year journey through infertility and depression, inspiring couples to seek support and break fertility taboos.
ITV Wales News anchor Andrea Byrne tells the story of the battle she and rugby star husband Lee Byrne faced in trying to start a family. Seven long years of invasive medical procedures and alternative therapies including ‘magic pants’ led to them both being diagnosed with depression and left their marriage flailing. And yet their story finally had a happy ending. Andrea now hosts a podcast called Making Babies and is a Tedx speaker on fertility. By talking candidly about her own story, she wants to help break one of life’s big taboos and encourage couples in a similar situation to open up and get the support they desperately need. The book will feature unpublished photos of the family as well as sections on the stories of guests to Andrea’s podcast, which include well-known names such as comedian Geoff Norcott and sports presenter Gabby Logan.
Andrea Byrne is a familiar face of ITV News in Wales. As well as anchoring Wales at Six, she has presented the UK's national News at Ten, ITV’s Evening News, Lunchtime News, GMTV and current affairs programme Wales This Week. She is married to Wales and British & Irish Lions rugby star Lee Byrne.
